Born in Taranto (Italy), Alberto Benvenuti is self-taught.
He later attended the "Scuola Libera del Nudo" at the Venice Art Academy. He achieved his diploma at the Liceo Artistico Statale and attended courses in printmaking at the Centro Internazionale della Grafica, also in Venice.
His work are preserved at the Biennale Historical Archives in Venice, at the Kunsthistorische Institute in Florence, at the Gabinetto delle Stampe antiche e Moderne in Bagnacavallo (Ravenna), and at the "Raccolta d' Arte A. Sartori" in Mantua.
He is a cofounder of Atelier Aperto, part of Centro Internazionale della Grafica, in Venice.
Alberto Benvenuti uses engraving, aquaforte and aquatint techniques, and does woodcutting and gypsography.
His favorite subjects include views of Venice and emotional interpretations of religious and every day life.
